I am going to get right to the point to any of the other brides reading this, choose Portico! Every other venue I looked at had a good price but then the extras started to get tacked on and it got so out of control. Why should I have to pay extra for real plates and forks and linens, that is crazy. I found Portico’s site online and decided to take a look even though I was sure I was going to leave angry again. It was in between open houses but Kyle said he would meet us there and show us around and Amy and he could answer questions for us. So, right away I was impressed, but still cynical. Well being cynical lasted about 20 minutes after walking through their beautiful facility. Before I could even ask, they showed me the china which was included, the linens which not only were included but I could choose my own colors for no extra charge, and most of all the chair covers which were beautiful were included. Unbelievable I would already have been $1000 dollars over the set price at the other venues. I had a lot of family coming from Canada and North Dakota and I wanted them to experience Phoenix the right way and Portico had everything I loved. Lemon and orange trees surround the court yard, the entire outside is decorated in art, and the court yard was beautiful with its bridge covered pool surrounded by fire pits, fountains and other beautiful décor. The whole facility smelled beautiful and looked magical.
My husband and I were married in Vegas so we could have this big wedding later on (long story) so we did not require a minister, every other venue would not customize their packages for us but Kyle did. He worked with us through everything including my mother who is a wine maker, bringing in her own wine. Another cost saver was that Portico has you bring in your own liquor and pop but provides a bartender where most other venues require you to spend a certain amount on booze, and let me tell you after buying our own, people really do not drink as much as you think they would, so the cost is way lower than you would think, (and my family are drinkers).
I can go on and on about the facility but I also want to compliment the vendors that Kyle and Amy have teamed up with. The food was beyond good- that garlic butter chicken was amazing I loved it all. And the flower arrangements were breath taking. I came into the venue on my wedding day so stressed and upset and the first thing I saw in the dressing room was my bouquet and I almost cried, it was beautiful. Piece of Cake did an amazing job on our cake. It was exactly what I wanted-fun and yummy. But most of all the DJ, Rankin, was wonderful. He had everything planned out to the second. The wedding would not have been the same without his help, thank you Rankin. Oopps almost forgot the best part, my memories. The pictures taken by Amy were beautiful, she was wonderful- not pushy or snotty like many of the weddings I have been in. I had no idea what pictures to order more of because they were all beautiful. And the videography by Kyle was equally great.
There is nothing more to say except that my day was perfect and if you want that perfect day, this is the place to be. Heck I would work for them if they asked so I could enjoy more weddings there.

Wow is the only word I can use to describe my nieces wedding at Portico in Arizona. The whole atmosphere of the venue was perfect. I am not sure what I loved more, the beautiful court yard that she was married in, the outside reception hall, or the outside décor of fire pits and fountains. This is my first time to Arizona and Melanie had said we wouldn’t be disappointed, that she found a wedding venue that showed off all of her favorite parts of Arizona, and she was not lying.
There was not a thing I could complain about, the food was so wonderful, especially the chicken, wow! Her flowers were beautiful and the DJ was great. I can not believe that she did not have to go out and get her own vendors. I wish I had that option when my two daughters were married, I might have been able to enjoy it.
This is a beautiful site and the owners appeared to be so attentive to the bride and groom as well as her mother. All I can say to others is to not think twice about reserving this place; you might be able to enjoy your own wedding.

I think as a mother of the bride there is no greater feeling than seeing your daughter happy on her wedding day. It was incredibly hard not to be close by when my only daughter made wedding day decisions, especially since we were footing the bill. I was a little worried when she called to say she found the perfect place for her wedding. She convinced me though that it was exactly what she wanted and kept saying it represented everything she loved about Arizona, (I think she said this to everyone she saw at the wedding). I was still worried after I saw the pictures of the site of the website because I just couldn't picture it. My husband and I were finally able to see the venue on a visit months later and I new instantly that my daughter was right, it was perfect. I thought it was perfect at the time, and then saw it again the day before the wedding after some beautiful renovations were made, and loved it even more.
From the time we walked on to the property for the wedding till the time we drove off, Kyle and Amy were only concerned with what my daughter needed and how to make her happy. In fact, as soon as my daughter walked into the building the day of the wedding, Amy said she looked stressed and offered to do anything to make things better. Now things like that make a mother happy, which makes a father of the bride happy as well.
I have recently seen the wedding pictures Amy herself took and the video Kyle made and am more than satisfied, they are beautiful lasting memories.
I have no complaints except that I wish they could have rubbed off on our hotel attendants.

We got married on a sunny day in March at Portico. Planning a wedding can be quite stressful but with the help of God leading us to the right location, that stress slowly started to fade away. Our first initial tour at Portico was very lovely. It was perfect for a small, simple, and beautiful wedding. Amy was very kind and polite and made it clear that her and Kyle would do everything in their power to accommodate our needs. We ended up booking our wedding that day!! We appreciated Amy and Kyle’s openness to our thoughts and ideas.
The fact that Portico provided choosing your own centerpieces and table cloths for the tables they provided was fantastic!! There was plenty of colors and arrangements to choose from that were simple yet elegant.
The catering was very professional and the food was delicious. Amy and Kyle made sure that everything went smoothly on our wedding day and communicated with us very well to make sure we were up to speed with what was going on. That was such a relief.

We wanted to let you know how wonderful our experience at Portico was. Our wedding of March 2011 was picture perfect, and Amy's pictures prove it. We loved the set up and you both were so easy to work with to get everything lined up. Portico gave us the cozy togetherness that we really wanted for our wedding. It was so personal and intimate, and everything was taken care of for us, that once we set foot at the venue all of our stress seemed to melt away. We can't tell you how many of our guests told us what a great time they had, they loved the food, the decorations, the venue itself. We were having people calling us weeks later and still raving about what a great time they had and were telling friends what a beautiful wedding it was. The pictures that Amy took were magical and we have had the hardest time picking favorites to put on our walls.
